TENKAI

Tenkai privacy policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

Tenkai is an AI workout coach. This page explains what the app stores, what it sends to other services and how to delete it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

What we store to run your plan

  • An account id. You start as a guest; if you save your progress, also your email address.
  • Your answers: sport, goal, experience, days per week, session length, equipment, areas that hurt and your notes, and (only if you enter it) your weight and goal weight.
  • Your plan, the workouts you log (sets, reps, weights, times, how it felt) and your chat with the coach.
  • How many AI requests you make each day and their cost, to keep the service fair and affordable.

This is kept in Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication).

Subscription

If you subscribe to Tenkai Pro, Apple handles the payment; we never see your card. Apple sends our server the subscription's product, transaction id and end date so the app knows you have Pro. We keep these with your account.

AI coach

To build your plan and answer chat messages, our server sends your answers, your recent workouts and your message to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic processes it to produce the reply. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this data is not used to train their models.

Usage statistics (analytics)

With your permission (on by default, and you can turn it off at any time in Profile → Privacy), the app sends usage events to PostHog in the EU: which screens you open, onboarding steps, when a plan is built, when a workout starts, finishes or ends early, coach messages sent and changes applied, check-ins and saving your account. Events carry numbers and short labels only (for example the week number or how many sets you did).

We also attach your sport, goal, experience, days per week and the app version, so we can see which plans work. We never send your chat text, pain areas or notes, or your body weight, and we don't collect your location.

Error reports

When the app hits an error, it sends us the error message and stack trace, the screen you were on, the app version, your device model and your account id, so we can fix it. Reports go to our server and to a private developer channel. In the store version, PostHog error tracking may also receive app errors.

Deleting your data

In the app, open Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, answers, plans, workouts, chat and AI usage counts. Usage statistics already sent to PostHog are tied to your account id and are deleted on request.
